Here’s a little video I made showing you why I am re-writing a lot of the Titles and Descriptions on my beauty salon website.
If you know anything about websites and search engine optimisation, you may have heard of “keywords”. The idea is that you use specific words on your web page to make sure you get found for it in search engines, such as Google.
Now obviously, over the years Google has become more sophisticated. But, many people are still taking the wrong approach to beauty salon website search engine optimization (SEO).
The balance is this:
- You need keywords in your content to make sure Google understands what your page is about (along with other standard information that Google loves). But, it can do the rest in terms of working out what you do.
- You need people to be engaged into your web page so that they take action.
One area where this is really becoming important in my opinion is meta data – namely Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions. These are parts of your page that you don;t necessarily see, but they do define important information about the page.
